On the road...
We are back on the road, sad to leave Palm Creek, but happy to be going home. Last week was as usual busy, as stated we golfed on Saturday with Bob & Sue, Then golfed at the park on Sunday with Jackie and Jerry, followed by dinner at the Olive Garden. Always fun times . Monday I played in the Men's at Palm Creek, had lunch, and a short nap, then Mary and I played 9 with Jane and Brent.
Tuesday I rested,(i.e. ` no golf, but rode the bike with Lola) Mary went to pickleball. Mary golfed on Wednesday in the Ladies and i went to Mission Royale with Wes (our neighbor) ~ all this golf must be good as I had my best game of the year. Dave White golf on Thursday with the Hacker's (HAHA) another good game. Happy hours pretty well every evening on our street. The weather is now great - you can enjoy sitting out in the evenings, so much so that I haven't even watched one end of the World Curling , or any of the golf on TV. Thursday was happy hour at Barry and Alana's - we haven't gotten together with them as much this year, so it was nice to catch up!!
Packed up the truck and RV - hit the road on Friday AM and travelled thru Pheonix to Destiny RV park in Goodyear. Freeway traffic was light and we made good time.
Our grandson Miller is in a baseball tournament close to here. We have been to 4 games so far and another one today. They have played OK but against teams from California and Arizona they a step behind - now if it was hockey :}
Also got a hike in at a local park to check out the flowers and terrain.
Our plan is to head up to Vegas area, then St. Georges later this week, maybe go to Zion in Utah and then head home.

Times Running Out !!!
OK, we are down to our last week here in our winter home, Palm Creek this year has had some of the lousiest weather in all the years we have been coming. While it is better than the winters at home (rain and snow) we have had some rain and a lot more wind than normal. Guess we can't be too sad, I have managed to get in 16 golf games on regulation size courses and 14 games here at our par 3 in Palm Creek. Mary also got a fair bit of golf in, as well as pickleball. In fact she won her flight last week in the P.C. Club Championship. congratulations
for this week ..........
Recapping our week:
Monday & Wednesday - Men's and Women's Club Championship golf @ Palm Creek Club followed by a pizza party and awards on Wed.
Back to the weather - it rained on Tuesday - inside reading, laundry and clean up were the highlights of the day :(
Wednesdays golf was with 20-30 mph winds - made for some interesting shots.
Thursday was back to regular sunny skys and our PC Hackers golf at Dave White. later the "movie in the park " was cancelled as the winds returned, but we still squeezed in a happy hour with our great neighbours.
Friday - washed the truck, Mary got a hair cut, and played pickleball.
Saturday we dropped Lola off at the groomers, before heading to Francisco Grande for golf with Bob & Sue.
Mary invited her golf and pickleball friend Cheryl and husband Kevin (from London Ont.) over for happy hour, we had a good time talking about our adventures in retirement.
Today is another round of golf here at PC with Jackie and Jerry, then out somewhere for dinner.
We are planning on leaving on Wednesday - off to Phoenix to Destiny RV park
Miller is playing in a baseball tournament close to there, Stephanie and family are coming down. It will be fun to watch ball again and see the grandkids..

Marching into March
March 4th, the week started with Monday Men's golf here in the park.Weather was `nice, golf was good, the rest of the day was spent enjoying the sunshine. Tuesday we went up to San Tan Valley to Jim & Milena's for dinner and planning our next River Cruise later this year. Had a fun visit and super dinner.
Wednesday, Mary had her Ladies golf in the park, while I played Mission Royale with our neighbour Wes.
Mary also had a show and tell Learn to Quilt. The class showed their newly learnt talent.
Even though the weather is nice, I'm finding some time to watch a bit of the "Brier" taped of course and whipping thru in quick time.
Thursday was another golf day. AM Hackers golf at Dave White course. The Vietnam War Memorial wall exhibit was set up close by, so after golf I did a quick tour, very moving seeing so so many names of the people who did not come home.
Great sunset to top off a busy Thursday.
Friday, the wind returned so we stayed low, watched more of the "brier"
Saturday the nice weather was back, so Mary & I went to Francisco Grande with Bob and Sue, We were dressed warm for our 9:30am tee time, but quickly took off the layers as the sun came out.
Sunday, today Mary has pickleball planned and we are going out for dinner with 4 other couples from our fun street.
Life in the desert is GREAT.

Got home, had lunch, quick nap and loaded up the clubs again as we were doing Nine and Dine with Ruth Ann and Wes (neighbours) We had fun, came in 3rd and had a delicious "chicken fried steak dinner". Back at the rig took Lola out for her walk, cleaned up and went to the ballroom to get entertained by the Palm Creek Chorus. Our cross the street neighbour Jane is a choir member.

I'm late
Ok. its Monday March 4th and I am delinquent in my updates. Guess the great weather has kept me outside. It was nice not to have to bundle up for golf, Monday Men's was a scramble - we did OK but no $$, Tuesday Mary had quilting and I did my usual "around the rig" things - washed the truck, walked the dog, rode the bike. That evening was games nite again, lots of fun playing SWOOP, Mexican Train and other games with our friends and neighbours. Marys' ladies golf on Wednesday, again I just enjoyed the sunshine. Thursday back to golf with the PC Hackers - played so well for 16 holes, one day I''ll get it right.
.. Our friends Bob and Sue bought an improved lot (IE- RV site with a casita and other improvements on it), so we had a happy hour to break it in.
Friday and it's March 1st already, the winter has gone quite fast. Lots of snowbirds are heading home, the park is getting empty, We had a street party - potluck , lots of food and good company
The Glass and Art show was on Saturday, there are some talented people in the park. I went to an Elk's golf tournament at Robson Ranch (invited by Patrick) with lunch back at the Elks club. Wow do you know that because its a private club they allow smoking. UGH brought me back to the old days when it was the norm in bars.
The "Dual in the Desert" is a huge Pickleball tournament, held here in Palm Creek. We met a couple from home (parents of a friend at Canada Cup) who were playing in the tourny, they came over for drinks.
Sunday afternoon, then went to Nashville Gold , was a great concert, they sang all the country hits from the 50's thru to today.

That's it for this week,

Where's the sun.???
This past week started out still cool and windy, we didn't venture too far from the rig. Sunday was "life as usual" walk the dog, do some laundry, shopping etc.
Monday men;'s golf was almost a no-go as the weather looked crappy, but I heard a few guy's were going so I packed up my 3 clubs (it was a 3 club only tournament) About 1/2 the # registered showed up, but surprise, the weather held (even though I was wrapped up in my heavy sweater and a jacket.)
My 7 wood, 7 iron and putter served me well, came in 3rd overall and won $5.20 US, My total for the year is up to $46.00 US
Tuesday was quilting for Mary, while Lola and I rode the bike around the park. The weather forecast for the rest of the week was not looking good, especially Thursday for our Hackers golf. I talked to a couple of the guys and we decided to get a game in on Wednesday at Francisco Grande >Good thing, Wednesday turned out to be the best day of the week, while Thursday it absolutely poured rain. They say we got close to 2 inches. Someone commented that the ANIMALS are now getting on the ARK ~~~HaHa
..😆 Good thing the Scottie's is on, I binge watched most of the games that I had taped.

Golf and Pickleball were scrapped on Friday as we had wind, rain, hail no sun :( ..Went for dinner at Jackie and Jerry's.
Saturday there is rejoicing in the park >>the big yellow ball is back in the sky.
The annual car show was on Saturday, lots of cool cars and the band that played "Beach Boys ~ the Monkee's, were really good.
Later we started happy hour early to celebrate the return of great weather, Wow, people came out of hiding, we had 14 people around the firepit at our site 😊
Today is Canada Day in the park, big party for all the Canadians, is held up at the activities center...gonna wear RED.

the Usual ~ Feb 10th to 17th
This week was life in Arizona as USUAL. Except for the inclement weather. We did manage to get the golf, happy hours, and other necessities of 'life in the desert' in.
Sunday we golfed with Jim & Milena over at Robson Ranch, weather was OK but windy, we thought we would have dinner there after, but the restaurant was closed! so we went to Buffalo Wings, a sports bar close by, food was very good.
Monday men's golf here at Palm Creek, played OK but no winners in our group :(
Tuesday Mary went to quilting, I did the usual clean up around the RV site, walked Lola around the park, and read a book.
Wednesday I played out at Francisco Grande, great front 9, not so great back 9, that's golf later that day, our niece Fiona and family came down for a visit. Took a tour of the park, kids went to the pool, and we had nice visit and dinner.
Back to Golf on Thursday, got the front 9 in, and felt like I was at home on the back 9 as the sprinkles started, but we didn't get too wet and I had my best game to date (14 pars NO birdies)
Mary was to play pickle ball in the afternoon, but got rained out.
This is the worst winter here in Az in all the time we have been snowbirding, BUT all our friends and relatives at home keep sending us pictures of the snow, so we are not too sad.:)
oh and Happy Valentines day ❤
Friday was still cloudy so we headed up yo Phoenix, hit Camper's World and Costco.
The Quilt show was on here at the park on Saturday, along with the woodworkers show. Lots of talent
