Packed up and ready to go. Saturday January 3rd. We hit the nexus line at Peace Arch where the nice man in the booth asked us to go in for a compliance inspection. 45 minutes later we left minus Mary's "Fred Meyer frozen chicken" that may have contacted the avion flu while it was in Canada.. Marysville Wa ~1st stop at Costco for some supplies and wine... then on thru Seattle and Portland to Woodburn Or. Here we met a couple from Steveston that were travelling our route for the 1st time so we gave them some of our fabulous knowledge as to where to stay, we have weeded out all the trash trailer parks on our previous 5 trips south...Day 2 saw us motor down the I-5 to Seven Feathers RV and Casino in Canyonville Or, set up and went for dinner with our Steveston travel friends. Spent a little $$ in the casino, Mary made a little and I kept my losses to under $5 (big spenders) back at camp I discovered a leaky toilet valve, would have to wait til later, so no running water for a day or 2
Day 3 was a 401 mile trek down the I-5 and Hwy 99 to Bakersfield Ca. The Siskiyou Pass and Mt Shasta were beautiful, as the temperature rose we turned down the heater in the truck til finally we set the AC on... Orange Grove RV park was reached in 7 hours, just in time for Happy Hour with our Steveston friends.
Picked our usual bag of the best oranges right off the tree in our site. Day 4 ~ heading east to Lake Havasu
