Week # 2

😎  Saturday Jan 19th was the patio sale, as we were getting our RV washed and waxed, I took my golf clubs and bag up the road to a friend's (Gary and Rosemary from Kelowna) as they are selling their Park Model and de-cluttering. Also sold an old RV antenna I bought in Palm Springs a while ago, things went well, Gary sold my clubs for full price BUT threw in the bag 😒, actually I didn't use 5 of the irons. we went to Mission Royale driving range to test out Mary's new clubs, she pronounced them OK   so our  across the street neighbour (from South Surrey) bought Mary's old clubs, thus was GIVING away his wives clubs, there was an old Cobra wedge in it so I took it (temporarily) When I took the re-cycling up later on there were more golf clubs sitting there , so I borrowed the 7 iron ` I call it my rescue club HAHA .Oh also found a temp bag for free ( VERY TEMP ) till I get a new one, and I bought a $10 wedge at Mission Royale ~~ anyway the assortment worked pretty good as I shot a 61 (par 54) and came in 2nd to win a whole $8.10 in men's club today (Monday)
Sunday we hit the Casa Grande Street fair, went early and had lunch at the BIG HOUSE cafe
 https://www.facebook.com/BigHouseCafe/
food was good as recommended by lots of Palm Creekers
 - took Lola for her usual 5 walks and runs in the PC dog parks ~ was a decent day 'cept the wind came up and cooled things down ..                                       Also this week -

  • Sunday nite we went to "games nite" organized by friends from Surrey, Mary won 3 games of Yatzee
  •  I ordered a new golf bag on Amazon, it arrived on Thursday.
  • Tuesday we went to Boston's for dinner with our neighbours from Ohio. Bostons is a replica of Boston Pizza (same chain)
  • Mary's Wednesday golf ~ her new clubs still work , her team won 1st place $10.75 👏👏
  • Played the 'Muni" course on Thursday with the PC Hackers - another good game although for all my Delta golf friends at home , you'll laugh when I tell you we had a 45 min frost delay  😐
  • Friday is Welcome back day in the park
  • Saturday golf with Bob and Sue, then lunch on the patio. Mary is back playing a bit of pickleball, I'm reading a few books. All in all another great relaxing week in the sunshine.

Week # 1

Ok, week # 1 went by in a flash.Weather has been slowly warming up. Last Sunday we ventured up to Chandler, visited Golf Galaxy where I was looking at a new driver, tried a few and was gonna buy one, but the sales guy tried to get me into a couple of $500 plus models, I left empty handed. We went down the road to Dick's ~ Mary ended up buying a new set of clubs !!!

Monday I played in the Men's golf here at Palm Creek - was reasonably happy with my game. Just missed getting into the prizes by a stroke- Oh well next week
Tuesday we were supposed to get the RV washed and waxed, but they said there was a slight chance of rain, so delayed it til Saturday. We took Lola for grooming, she's now looking good.

Wednesday - Mary went to a Dillard's fashion show over at the mall. I did some clean up around the RV
Thursday, golf day for me at Dave White municipal, again I was happy with my game -but as usual there's always room for improvement. Mary signed up for quilting ( a new passion coming up??)
Friday we went over the driving range, Mary decided that she's keeping her new clubs. Saturday was the park's patio sales, I sold my old Adams irons as well as my bag and Mary sold her old clubs to our neighbour. Found an old bag for FREE down the street to use til I find a new bag.
We golfed here in the park with Sue and Bob, everyone was happy with their game, Mary was happy she played 18 - her new clubs and hips survived, (although later she had to hit the hot tub:) 👌
Today the Dish tech showed up and we got a new modem/router, our internet should be great now.
For those who are wondering about the happy hours, yes we have been partaking most nights rotating around our great neighbours on our street.🍷
see u next week 👀

2019 Arizona

With Christmas and New Years over its time for our annual pilgrimage south. We packed up and left January 5th. Day one saw us thru Seattle and Portland with decent weather and light traffic. Planning on stopping just south of Portland, it was early in the day so we pushed on to Eugene.
Premier RV park was our choice for the nite, Its only Premier in name, average sites, but premier prices. Not going there again!! They were calling for wind and rain overnight. We were settled in and the rain started, watching the Seattle vs Dallas football game, the wind started, with 10 min left in the 4th quarter, Seattle was pushing to go ahead when BAM, we lost power. It stayed off for a few hours, Winds were gusting to 60 mph.
Up and on the road Sunday morning (Mary's birthday on the road again) we got thru Grants Pass with just some windy conditions, heading up the Siskiyou's we were relieved that the weather looked promising, however just beyond Weed Ca. the rain and sleet started then SNOW, one lane traffic @ 30 mph for an hour and a bit slowed us down. Over the pass successfully and into Rolling Hills Casino at Corning for night # 2

Monday down the I-5 and Hwy 99 to Bakersfield we pulled into Orange Grove RV park, picked a few bags of oranges and relaxed. Overnight it became very windy again, and continued in the AM as we went over the Tehachapi Pass with wind gusts up to  40 mph. The truck and trailer made it fine, and got us to  our destination of Lake Havasu  state park for 2 nights. Great park and beautiful sunsets
  1. Lola travelled really well

Thursday, an easy drive to Palm Creek Golf & RV in Casa Grande, got in mid day and set up, welcomed by all our neighbours and friends. After unpacking and washing the truck etc. a welcome back block party was held on Friday, where we caught up with all their adventures since last year.
